Oral history interviews of the Kent State Shootings Oral History Project, 1990-2010.

This collection contains audio recordings and transcripts of interviews from individuals who have contributed to the project; there are accounts by Kent State University faculty, alumni, staff, and administrators, police, hospital personnel, Ohio National Guard, Kent residents, and other persons whose lives were affected by these historic events. Many of the narrators were eyewitnesses to the shootings and many of the interviews were conducted at the 1990, 1995, and 2000 annual commemorations.

The 20th Commemoration of the Kent State shootings, held in 1990, remains one of the largest-attended of all the annual gatherings. Preparations had begun a few years in advance, culminating in the creation of the May 4 20th Anniversary Commission, at the behest of President Michael Schwartz, in 1989.
